Liyan Zhao is a software engineer, and a mother of four. She has been active in public service for over 15 years. Her community service includes serving on boards of Fremont Union High School Foundation, Asian American Parents Association, and Silicon Valley Community United. She was elected School Site Councilmember for Lynbrook High in 2018.

Liyan is the founder and writer of the popular WeChat blog “Raising kids in North America.” She wrote over 100 articles to share her rich experience raising her kids. She is the co-authors two books published by Tsinghua University.

Liyan loves reading, hiking, and drawing when her time affords.
