Educator, public relations (PR) professional,

 author, award-winning journalist

Is an experienced judge, a community leader, literacy/language arts and communications specialist with public affairs, ESL, and media relations experience for more than 15 years. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Mass Communications. He is a senior reporter/columnist for Philippine News Today (PNT – As I See It), a weekly English newspaper based in San Francisco and a senior reporter/columnist for Hawaii Filipino Chronicle (HFC – As I See It), a bi-weekly newspaper based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

He is the author of Unlocking the Chain of Poverty: In Pursuit of the American Dream, a book of guts, survival and the will to persevere against all odds. The book chronicles a Filipino immigrant’s exploits in the US with his wife and five of their six children at a time of a declining global economy in the 1990’s. The book is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Xlibris Publishing.

 

He was honored as one of the Community Heroes Award for CA District 25 for his dedication and strong commitments to public service… by then Assembly member Kansen Chu in 2019.

 

He was a recipient of the Excellence for Filipino-American Journalism during the 6th Plaridel Awards in 2017 for winning the Merit Award for Best News Story given by the Filipino-American Press Club-USA based in San Francisco.

 

He retired from De Anza College after 10 years of teaching at the Arts and Sciences Department and taught for 5 years as an Adjunct Online Faculty for Axia College, University of Phoenix. At present, he is an Academic Instructor for San Jose Job Corps Center (SJJC), a federal program for young adults ages 16 to 24.
